Burkeview Montessori Children’s Centre was incorporated in June 2006 with the goal to provide an Early Learning Centre as well as “one stop daycare” for families in the local area.  We believe that every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to reach his/her full potential.  Our mission is to instill a love of learning allowing each child to develop at his/her own rate in a clean, safe, warm and peaceful environment prepared to meet each individual child’s needs.  The teachers/directresses are Montessori ECE trained.

Margie Lal, owner and directress, brings over 20 years of experience of working with children, having 3 daughters and twin grandchildren. She has been a licensed and practising Montessori Early Childhood Educator for more than 15 years and was responsible for bringing Montessori to New Westminster over 14 years ago and then to the Sunshine Coast, before  moving to Port Coquitlam three years ago.

Margie is also a teacher of teachers, having taught both E.C.E. and Montessori classes at Vancouver E.C.E. Montessori College and is a member of the Alumni of Western Montessori Teacher’s College.

Margie is also a qualified Montessori elementary assistant but as her passion is teaching younger children, she has now brought her expertise to Burkeview Montessori Children's Centre.
